Guatemala Wins First Ever Olympic Medal

Many congratulations to 21 year old Erick Barrondo, who has made history for Guatemala by winning their first ever Olympic medal since the country first participated in the games in 1952.  Erick won the silver medal in the men’s 20km walk at London 2012 and later received a call from Guatemala’s president, Otto Pedrez Molina, congratulating him on his achievement.  It was great to see Guatemala’s very distinctive flag flying at the Games.
