We had a wonderful time in
Northern Ireland over the Conference weekend at the beginning November,
renewing acquaintances and making new friends. Friday night was spent in
St John’s Parish Church, Mullaghbrack, Markethill with the Charity Shop
volunteers and local Church Contacts. Brian and Ruth Agnew led us in
worship before we shared recent developments in the world of AAC and took a
look at what a huge difference the Charity Shop has made to our work. The
evening was finished off with a huge spread – thank you to all who contributed!
Our Day Conference on Saturday
was held in Cairnshill Methodist Church, Belfast and was attended by sponsors,
supporters and Reps from as far afield as Sligo and Inverness! Video
messages and updates from all the international offices brought us all
up-to-date and local news and reports were also shared. Joe Kennedy also
spoke about his recent Albania trip and the use of CEF resources there to help
the evangelism team. Worship was led by Dave McCready and band and the
whole day finished off with a time of prayer. We left feeling uplifted
and encouraged.
Sunday morning services were at
Belvoir and Cairnshill Methodist Churches with all ages involved in the service
and children’s group. This was followed by a fundraising lunch which
raised £400 to help our needy children. The whole weekend was a great
encouragement – thank you to everyone who hosted, cooked, provided
accommodation, led, participated and came along to support us. Together
we are Changing the World … One Child at a Time.
